Christian Seiter, PhD

 Christian Seiter (he/him) is an assistant professor in the Human Communication Studies department at California State University, Fullerton (https://communications.fullerton.edu/hcom/faculty/christianseiter/index.php).


Christian’s research concerns communication in end-of-life healthcare contexts. Specifically, his mixed-methods work examines use of novel message strategies (e.g., humor, worry) to motivate discussion of end-of-life wishes within families. Christian also studies spiritual communication, online social support, infertility grief, and the Death Positive Movement.


Christian is proud to serve on the advisory board for EOL/Death Scholars. In this role, he hopes to increase the group’s visibility by contributing excellent scholarship regarding best practices for EOL communication and pedagogy. Further he is actively helping to establish a death and dying communication division at the National Communication Association.
